I have good news & bad news.

The good news is we’re launching something fun & new on Halloween 2022. It’ll be serial and will continue through early February, then will be available hopefully forever (for free of course). I’ll obviously post all about it here so the links to subscribe will be available the very moment it’s launched. If you sign up for emailed notification of my stories, you’ll get that email the very moment it goes live.

Now for the bad news: All “Last Days” chapters will be coming down in a few weeks — meaning all chapters of Last Days currently up here on Medium will be deleted from the platform entirely.

It’s been great having the accountability of a weekly post here — especially while working a full-time job, raising a baby and trying to get an off-shoot of We Make Movies started here in New Zealand — but “Last Days” is now at a point where showing all our work online is no longer a net positive. Not to mention all the time and energy that we’ve already put into it this year is all the motivation we need to keep it going.

I don’t need to make money with this project. It really is a labor of love. I just want to let others fall in love with these characters that have been living inside my head for nearly two decades now, but the work currently up here on Medium is first draft at best — even rough draft in a few cases. If our new project has a chance of actually developing an audience and breaking through the anonymity of noise, I want to make sure it’s polished and as close to the final form as possible. So the rough drafts must come down.

We’ll continue our work behind-the-scenes and hopefully some time in 2023 an actual novel will be available, but don’t forget there’s some else entirely coming on Halloween, so stay tuned for that. In the meantime, I’d like to thank those of you who’ve been along for the ride, and can’t wait to share with you Allan, Kim, Sandy, Ned and all the poor suckers who don’t survive— all in far more polished forms.

Cheers,
